But Los Cabos (the county including San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas and the highly-developed Corridor in between), is consistently the #1 tourist destination for foreigners in all of Mexico, and is the most developed of all of the locations Mexico targeted for tourism development 30 years ago.
Los Cabos well-equipped airport hosts arrivals and departures all day, and not just from the west coast but from all over the US and Canada, and Mexico. Naturally, the western US and western Canada are some of the biggest sources of tourism. Unlike Cancun, it has very few high rise buildings (none over 8 stories), and has developed a large component of retirement and long-term living options for those who see it for the first time as tourists.
