Agua Verde Baja Sur
Part of Loreto’s natural tourism area.
Agua Verde Baja California Sur (BCS) is the farthest south of all the locations that are part of Loreto’s natural tourism area. It is at a dramatic, cliff-backed natural harbor about 30 miles south of Loreto’s Historic Town, and as of early 2011 you can only get there by boat, or by about a 40 km. dirt road trip. The road is mostly OK, but a high-clearance vehicle, four wheel drive recommended, is needed. The final short piece of road dropping down off the mesa into the settlement is described variously as interesting, exciting and terrifying. A development effort is going on there too, with details as yet either not firm or not disclosed. We will keep an eye on it for you.
